L. A. D. (LEE ANDERSON DESIGN)

As we quickly approach the Winter season, it is my pleasure to introduce L. A. D., LEE ANDERSON DESIGN.
Lee Anderson is an innovative outerwear designer based in Paris. Lee is a very dear friend of mine who studied fashion design at Parsons in New York. She is an artist in every sense of the word who thinks outside the box, offering an inspiring take on utilitarian coats. The emphasis is on movement, durability, and the stress points that receive the most wear using materials including leather, silk, and linen. Lee’s coats are practical and to top it off, they are absolutely gorgeous with an avant-garde aesthetic.

Lee is also a catalyst for creative inspiration and change, emphasizing a direct approach to creative communication in today’s ever-changing, technologically driven world. When she lived in New York, Lee would host Inspiration Potlucks at her apartment. Friends, including myself, would come over with treats and share stories, poems, and sources of inspiration. It was like a salon of creative energy whether we were drawing sketches or taking souvenirs of inspiration that people had brought that night. While she may have moved to Paris, Lee has continued her tradition with a compilation of contributions from various artists sharing their inspiration in POTLUCK, 2010, KINDLING:
